FAQ

SmartGym

  1. What can the SmartGym Pro be used for? The SmartGym series will let you perform an all-round full-body workout even if you have very limited floor space. It will fit your home, office or fitness centre. Depending on your personal exercise needs and requirements, you can select one of the five modes of operation: isokinetic, eccentric, standard, elastic or rowing mode - each of them engaging the muscle groups you use it with in a slightly different way.
  2. What is the “digital weight”? The “digital weight” is a term we use to refer to the innovative solution implemented in the SmartGym Pro which generates the desired working load from 3 to 130 kg using its preset logic. The feature uses output from the station’s internal sensors that monitor the tension of the cables and send that data immediately to the electric motor, which generates the resistance selected by the user.
  3. Is installing the SmartGym Pro complicated? No, it is not. All you need to do is connect the equipment to the wall power socket and then power the station on using the power button located next to its AC lead inlet. It has never been so easy to start working out!
  4. What is the maximum user weight allowed? The maximum user weight the device supports is 150 kg.
  5. Does the SmartGym need to be connected to AC power? Yes, you need to connect the workout station to a wall power socket.
  6. How to store SmartGym device when it is not in use?

Exercise modules

  1. What are the modes of operation supported by the SmartGym?

Five modes of operation are available: standard, eccentric, isokinetic, elastic and rowing mode.

    Standard mode – for beginners

A simple mode you will be familiar with if you have ever been to the gym. It enables you to work with weights on your muscles and body shape efficiently. In the standard mode, the cables resist with a constant force regardless if you are pulling or releasing them.

Eccentric mode – for advanced users

The eccentric mode lets you perform diversified muscle stimulation exercise (e.g. it is optimal for specialised sports training routines or physiotherapy exercised). In the eccentric mode, the SmartGym Pro generates more resistance while the cables are being released and retracted than while they are being pulled, which is extremely difficult to achieve using traditional gym equipment.

Isokinetic mode – for sports professionals

In addition to its support for specialised, goal-oriented sports training routines, the isokinetic mode lets you diversify your casual exercises. In that mode, the SmartGym Pro adapts the working weight to how fast you move: the faster your movements are, the greater working weight – or resistance generated by the workout station – will be.

    Elastic mode – for intermediates

The elastic mode replicates the action of the resistance rubbers. The load increases in direct proportion to the length of the extended line The further the line is extended, the faster (and with greater force) it will return to the station.

    Rowing mode – for intermediates

The rowing mode allows you to perform a muscular endurance workout where you want to perform a high number of repetitions or work for time. The feel of the exerciser is similar to that known from the Ergo Rowing Machine.

  2. Which muscle groups can I train using the SmartGym?

The complete SmartGym Pro and SmartGym Lite Sets, which includes the dedicated bench, is all you need to perform more than 200 exercises that let you develop and train all muscle groups. Some examples:

Legs and glutes: cup grip lunges, suitcase squats, kickbacks, barbell squats.

Forearms, arms and shoulders: flies, overhead standing presses, reverse push-ups.

    Back: barbell row, supported row.

Chest: flat bench presses, diagonal weight lifts, push-ups with weight.
